I am a beginning-to-grow-gray-hairs single mother of one little girl who will soon be taller then I am. I watch children in my home. I take them out to parks, libraries, and museums as often as possible for my benefit as well as theirs (I get a little cabin fever sometimes!). Caring for children is something I really enjoy doing. I couldn't imagine waking up happy to go to work if I was doing anything else... except maybe if I ran my own bookstore, but that's just a silly dream.
We are in our sixth year of homeschooling and absolutely love it! If you are going to ask me why I homeschool I'll save you the trouble and answer it here: because I want to. I love teaching and I love my child and I work at home. All of that put together makes homeschooling a perfect decision for us.
I am also an avid book reader. I LOVE books. Kids books, teen books, adult books, large print, small print, fiction, nonfiction, activity, biography, travel... You name it, I like it. I have a pantry/small bedroom next to my kitchen that is FULL of books. I have another bookshelf in the livingroom, another in my daughter's room and more books in my room as well! I worked part time at Barnes and Noble on and off for about 7 years and did story time at the Way Station for awhile.
I do not claim to be good at this Blogging nonsense, but I have enjoyed it so far so i will try to post 1-2 times a week... and I will try to be interesting, but I make no promises :)
